Blueberry-Banana-Oatmeal-Smoothie

Blueberry Banana Oatmeal Smoothie – This healthy smoothie is perfect for a quick breakfast.  Not only is it an easy and fast recipe to make – it fills you up quite nicely for the day.  Each serving is only 212 calories which makes this a great smoothie for weight loss or being just plain healthy!

Truth be told, I was a little apprehensive on adding dry oatmeal to a smoothie, but I can confidently say that it is an extremely welcome addition to the shake.  In fact, it absolutely makes it!  The oatmeal with the banana and blueberries create a magnificent combination of flavor.  The milk and yogurt bring it all together.

If you substitute skim milk for whole milk you can get this bad boy down to 182 calories per serving!  Not too shabby.

I also have recently begun the process of cutting out diet soda and any other types of artificial sweeteners from my diet.  The benefits are amazing but I definitely have a craving for sugar from time to time.  Artificial sweeteners actually promote this craving because they hit your brain as many more times sweet than actual sugar.  Long story short, I have upped my fruit consumption from zero to a couple of servings per day.

The fruit in this shake helps to curb those cravings of mine while providing key antioxidants.  The oatmeal in the smoothie helps keep me full throughout the day.
