Autumn Clove Spiced Red Wine Sangria

Autumn Clove Spiced Red Wine Sangria Recipe: this red wine sangria is spiced to perfection, bringing together my 2 favorite holidays… Autumn and Drinking (I think those are holidays).  When I initially made these, I definitely went a little heavy on the spices which is very easy to do.  So if you are making this at home and spices are not your thing, then I would recommend starting off with a smaller amount of each spice.  I personally found that the recipe posted below (which I got on the second try) is a perfect melody of red wine, fruit and autumn spice.

Autumn Sangria

Normally, sangria is associated with summertime because of the fruit.  I too held that belief until I tasted an Autumn Spiced Sangria at the Plaza Hotel in New York City and was converted immediately.  In fact, I highly recommend you serve this sangria the same temperature you would serve red wine in general (62-68 Degrees F for those of you counting).  Usually sangria drinks are served cold, but I feel like it dulls the spices that make the drink so nice and complex.

This sangria is great for Thanksgiving or Christmas.  It pairs nice with either a red meat or even your oven roasted turkey.  So next holiday, whip up a batch of autumn clove spiced red wine sangria, you won’t be disappointed.
